Visitation Restrictions Beginning Thursday, October 15th, Hancock Regional Hospital is implementing general patient visitor restrictions due to the increased prevalence of 2009 H1N1 flu within our community. General patient visitor restrictions include: • No visitors 16 years of age or younger • No more than two (2) visitors per patient This means only essential adult visitors – parents, spouses/domestic partners, guardians and spiritual counselors – will be allowed to visit patients. These restrictions are temporary and are part of an ongoing collaborative among several Indiana hospitals. • Anyone with flu-like symptoms, including fever, body aches, and cough or anyone who has been exposed to the flu. • Outpatients coming to the hospital may be accompanied by one or two adults, but no children. • All visitors will be required to sign in upon arriving at the hospital. • Anyone arriving at Hancock Regional Hospital between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. is requested to enter through the Emergency Department. Our decision to implement this temporary modification in policy supports our ongoing effort of minimizing the spread of H1N1 flu within our community.
