THE EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
The Outpatient Diabetes Education Center at Hancock Regional Hospital is certified by the American Diabetes Association. Opportunities for one-on-one assessments, group classes and support groups are available
ASSESSMENTS
Our one-on-one assessments provide individualized education regarding diet, glucose monitoring, medications, and health screenings necessary to successfully manage your diabetes. Assessments last approximately 90 minutes and are a wonderful opportunity to have your personal diabetes questions and concerns addressed by a registered nurse or registered dietician on staff. Assessments are scheduled by appointment only and a physician order is required.
GROUP CLASSES
Group classes are held 4 times per month in the Outpatient Diabetes Education Center. To make the experience as convenient as possible for our attendees, we offer classes in the morning and evening. Additionally, classes can be taken in any order to fit your personal schedule.
A group class offers patients the opportunity to learn from one another in a practical and supportive environment. 2 distinct classes focus on the tools you need to get and stay on track in your diabetes management plan.
The fee for each class is $20, which includes registration for you and one guest. If you would like to take BOTH classes, we offer a package price of $35.
