Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Provides education and exercises training for individuals with chronic lung disease or disorders including:

  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Emphysema
  • Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)

Bi-weekly sessions include strength and endurance training, education regarding breathing retraining, understanding lung disease, nutrition, activities of daily living, wellness, and smoking cessation.

Length of program

Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs usually last 9 - 10 weeks.

Referrals

Medicare patients must meet Medicare guidelines including a Pulmonary function test.  Referrals can be scheduled by contacting our Patient Welcome Cell at (317) 468.4600.

Hours of Operation

New patient assessments by appointment.
Tuesday & Thursday - Exercises sessions - 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Respiratory Therapy Services also sponsors the Better Breathers Support Group. This group is for individuals with chronic lung disease and their families.

Pulmonary Function Lab

The pulmonary function lab conducts pulmonary function testing including:

  • Baseline test
  • Bronchodilator tests
  • Arterial blood gases
  • Spirometry
  • Lung volumes
  • Airway resistance
  • Diffusion capacity
  • Closing volume
  • Rest & Exercise Oximetry testing
  • Nocturnal Oximetry testing

Hours of operation

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. three days per week.  Days vary from week to week.  Contact the Pulmonary Function Lab at (317) 468.4355 for more information.
