- Skim milk, 1%, or 2% low fat milk instead of whole milk.
- All vegetables are recommended except tomatoes and avoid fried or creamy style cooking.
- Apples, berries, melons, bananas, peaches and pears are ok, but avoid citrus fruits.
- Avoid breads and grains made with whole milk or high fat.
- Choose low fat meats such as chicken, fish, or turkey.
- Avoid chocolate desserts or those with oils and fat content above 3 grams of fat/serving.
- Choose fat free or low fat based soups.
- Avoid caffeinated, alcoholic or carbonated drinks such as coffee and colas.
- Do not snack between meals or eat mints of any kind.
- Eat smaller meals, large meals cause bloating, one of the main causes of reflux.
