Dr. Nelson received his undergraduate degree in zoology and biochemistry from Eastern Illinois University and his medical degree from Midwestern University in 2004. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine and Anesthesiology at the Brook Army Medical Center and followed with a Fellowship in interventional pain management at the University of Texas Health Science Center.
Dr. Nelson’s care philosophy is rooted in seeing someone as a unique individual. Putting that concept into practice fundamentally involves getting to know his patients and their individual lives and goals.
Dr. Nelson says his greatest accomplishment is being “Daddy” to his young children. When he is not spending time with his family he enjoys fitness, reading, and woodworking.
