Edith Zike Nursing Scholarship
The Edith Zike Nursing Scholarship was created in 1970 in memory of a dedicated local nurse, Edith Zike, to encourage entry into the nursing profession, thereby assuring the community a continued high level of nursing care. Scholarships of up to $2,000 per recipient are awarded each year.
Applicants must be accepted into a nursing or pre-nursing program at an accredited school and be current residents of the hospital’s primary service area* and/or be employed in a healthcare capacity in Hancock County. Prior recipients of this scholarship ARE eligible.
Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, community or extracurricular involvement, and demonstration of interest and/or experience in nursing activities. Multiple recipients may be selected. Financial need may be considered.
