Onsite care for patients with complex medical needs.

Patients who are critically ill or have complicated medical needs often require long-term hospitalization. They require close monitoring—more than can be provided with at-home or nursing home care. For these patients, Hancock Regional Hospital provides long-term acute care services in partnership with AMG Specialty Hospital. Medical conditions treated include:

  • Respiratory failure
  • Ventilator dependence
  • Post-operative complications
  • Complicated infections
  • Chronic non-healing wounds
  • Cardiac-related disorders
  • Closed-head injuries
  • Infectious disease
  • Septicemia
  • Stroke

  • A clinical liaison conducts an assessment and confers with the patient, the patient’s healthcare provider, referring physician, and family to determine the patient’s functional ability and desired goals.
  • The referral source is notified of the patient’s acceptance or denial for admission within 24 hours.
  • The admission coordinator schedules the admission with the referral source.
